  “My name is C K. I am 11 ½  years old, and I have cystic fibrosis. I went to Arizona with my father about a week ago, and I wanted to thank you for making the trip possible.
Around 2 or 3 days before the trip, I was feeling very sick and coughing a lot. I had a croup attack that I get a few times a year. The day before the trip, my mother took me to Dr. Giusti at Long Island College Hospital and he said I had an infection in my lung. I was very upset and afraid I couldn’t go, but he said that I could, but he ordered some inhaled antibiotic for me to take along.
When my father and I got to Arizona I was tired and coughing a lot. The next morning we went out, and my father was amazed at how beautiful and clear the sky was, and how clean the air was. That night I slept very well and coughed much less.
By the time I came home a week later, I was totally rested and feeling 100% better. I am not coughing now, except for how I usually cough when I am not sick. I want to thank you for letting me have this trip. I had a fantastic time and I hope I am able to go again next year.”
